About The Network
The FIREBASE NETWORK is totally comprised of volunteers. All FIREBASE NETWORK expenses are paid by donations. Each FIREBASE is totally responsible for their individual actions and expenses.
However, if you are an "out-front" or a "hands-on" person you might consider volunteering for one of our committees. For example: The FIREBASE NETWORK recently established a Medical Advisory Committee to review and comment on medical studies, medical procedures, and health care issues. This committee is made up of medical professionals. If you have expertise in medicine, you would be a person we would like to have on this committee.
Who Owns The FIREBASE NETWORK?
No single person or group "owns" the FIREBASE NETWORK. Without subscribers the FIREBASE NETWORK would not exist. Therefore, the FIREBASE NETWORK belongs to all who make it work.
What Does A "FIREBASE" Designation Means?
Military encampments called "FIREBASE" have been around for many decades of combat and war. The word "FIREBASE" conjures up many different meanings for military personnel. Some think of a Secure/Safe Zone, or Sanctuary. While others envision images of offensive artillery support. Now, the word "FIREBASE" has taken on a new meaning. The "FIREBASE" designation denotes a "Hot Spot" of veterans rights activism.
What Does A FIREBASE Director Do?
The basic job of the FIREBASE Directors is to monitor veteran affairs in their local area and share that information with the NETWORK. Many times local newspapers cover stories about veteran issues that are not picked up by the national news media. The FIREBASE NETWORK provides a way to share this information with others interested in the same topics.
How Will The FIREBASE NETWORK Benefit Me?
Members of the FIREBASE NETWORK monitor the news wire services and local media for articles and reports related to veterans. You will be forwarded articles and news from many different sources. In addition, many of our members are/have been very active in veterans affairs. Their expertise covers many areas. If you wish information on veterans benefits, retired military benefits, survivors and dependent benefits, veterans health care issues, and many other subjects, the NETWORK will respond. If we dont know the answer to a question, we will find out who does.
What is a FIREBASE SUPPORT Egroup?
The FIREBASE NETWORK encourages the development of Discussion Groups other than FIREBASE NEWS and FIREBASE CHAT. Whether political, religious/fellowship, or scientific/medical in nature. If you wish to put together your own "Think-Tank", you will be welcomed and supported by the Network. Our First FIREBASE NETWORK SUPPORT Egroup is FIREBASE CHRISTIAN COMFORT. You will find subscription information for this Egroup on the following page.
FIREBASE NETWORK "Special Operations"
Many of our FIREBASES are actively involved in a number of projects designed to bring attention to the problems facing our former military personnel. Several of our FIREBASES have recently contributed to stories produced by ABCs 20/20 and FOX TV. FOX5 television in Atlanta, Georgia recently aired "G.I. LIES" featuring interviews with former recruiter, and FIREBASE NETWORK Associate Director, DON HOLLAND. The program is an explosive expose on deceptive tactics and lies Recruiters use to trick our children into enlisting in the military. In addition, some of our members have staged pickets outside of Recruiting Offices in their area. While others bombard Congress and Senate with letters and email. All of these voluntary activities are classified as "Special Operations". You will never be pressured to participate in any FIREBASE Special Operation. Involvement in Special Operations is strictly on a volunteer basis. The FIREBASE NETWORK is constantly changing as we discover new and better methods to accomplish our mission.
How Do I Register As A FIREBASE?
Registering as a FIREBASE is easy. First, think up a name for your FIREBASE. There is no set rule for naming your FIREBASE. Some people use the name of their town or State, while others are a little more creative. Then, simply click the link below and fill out the short form. All personal information is kept confidential. Your FIREBASE will be added to our list of registered FIREBASES, and the FIREBASE NETWORK will officially recognize you as an active veterans rights advocate.
Will I Receive A Lot of Email?
When you subscribe to FIREBASE NEWS Egroup, you will receive only information posted by other subscribers. FIREBASE NEWS Email is minimal. If you subscribe to FIREBASE CHAT you will receive a great deal more Email, as responses are sent to everyone. If you do not like Cross-Talk Email, you may not want to subscribe to FIREBASE CHAT. You also have the option of subscribing/un-subscribing to either group at any time.
Who is on the FIREBASE NETWORK?
The FIREBASE NETWORK is comprised of an impressive cross-section of former military personnel. From 4 years of service, to 30 years, the NETWORK reflects many decades of military experience. Many are combat tested. Both officers and enlisted. We also have Dependents, Wives and Widows who monitor the Network. The Network has members that are disabled and have to use voice recognition software to communicate. We even have a couple of FIREBASES operated by the wives of severely disabled veterans. In addition, some of our members have served many years as veterans right advocates, or in the service of one of the many national veterans service organizations. The FIREBASE NETWORK is a place where they all can meet, compare notes, make suggestions, and implement changes.
Footnote
The reality of the situation is very clear. The Draft is a real possibility. This would mean young American will be forced to serve the New World Order without secured benefits. The general public is in the dark about these issues. Congress and the NVSOs have proven they are not willing to act in the best interest of our military personnel. In short, "if the system that services our veterans is to be changed, the veterans that system serves will have to initiate that change". The time has come for the American Veteran and Supporters to dictate the future treatment of our military personnel. We all have a moral obligation to leave a better system for our children and grand children. The FIREBASE NETWORK is committed to Unity and Solidarity among all former military personnel. We hope you will decide to join and support the Veterans Rights Movement by subscribing to the FIREBASE NETWORK.
